Mental Health Clinician / CIT

The North Reading Mental Health/Substance Abuse Clinician is available to support those who live or work in North Reading in connecting to resources. Referrals are based on both identified concerns and assessed needs, ensuring personalized support. Community members can access the clinician through a police officer referral, by walking into the police department, or by calling directly. The clinician aims to provide tailored referrals and resource connections that address the unique needs of each individual or family. Beyond connection to resources, the clinician provides compassionate, professional support to help navigate mental health or substance use challenges. If you or someone you know would like to get connected to mental health or substance use-related resources, please contact Laura Miranda, LMHC.

The North Reading Community Impact Team (CIT) is a collaborative partnership between community resources that emphasizes the use of innovative, non-traditional methods to identify factors that have a negative impact on the quality of life for all and to implement solutions that solve the underlying problems. Founded in March 2012 by Police Chief Michael Murphy, the CIT is administered by a collaborative team of Town Department Heads and Volunteers and operationally functions through four Action Teams: The K-12 Action Team, Social Services Action Team, Mental Wellness Action Team, and the Youth Substance Use Prevention Coalition.
