Become a North Reading Police Officer! The North Reading Police Department is seeking qualified candidates to fill police officer vacancies. Interested candidates must pass the upcoming written entrance examination on Aug. 19 at 9 a.m. at North Reading High School.
The North Reading Police Department is seeking applicants for Non-Civil Service, Full-Time Police Officer positions. NRPD Officers must be a U.S. Citizen, be a minimum of 21 years of age, hold a valid Driver’s License, a License to Carry a Firearm, and maintain POST certification. Candidates should be highly motivated, self-disciplined, and possess a community policing philosophy.

Candidates must pass the North Reading Police Officer Entrance exam scheduled on Aug. 19.
Candidates must have the ability to become a certified Massachusetts Police Officer (e.g. no felony convictions, no illicit drug use, etc.). The North Reading Police Department does not permit certain visible tattoos, visible beyond the department uniform, with few exceptions. Some body piercings are also restricted.
