The North Reading Police Department is accepting lateral transfer applications for a permanent non Civil Service Police Officer.
A full-time Law Enforcement Officer with a minimum of two years full time experience in his/her agency may apply to join the Department as a Lateral Transfer. Applicants must have successfully graduated from a Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Council (MPTC) Basic Police Officer Full-Time Police Officer Academy, in accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 41, section 96B.
All candidates seeking transfer to the North Reading Police Department will be required to successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation, medical examination and psychological exam.
This Department is seeking individuals who are highly motivated, productive law enforcement officers with community policing philosophy.
The base salary range is $54,998.32 to $74,095.32. The Town provides a generous benefits package including Holiday and Sick Buy Back incentives, Education Incentives, and an annual Clothing Allowance. North Reading Police Officers currently work a 4 days on and 4 days off work schedule at 10 hours per shift.
