Today we had the pleasure of meeting one of our local teens, 7th grader, Josephine Ferrante who on the day of her thirteenth birthday spent the morning “brightening people’s days by doing 13 random acts of kindness for people throughout the community”.
Being the beneficiary of one of those acts, we inquired further and learned that “Josie” had spent the morning handing out balloons to kids, leaving quarters on top of gum ball machines, paying for someone’s drive thru order, handing out flowers, donating clothing, placing nice notes on car windshields, donating to the food pantry, and she wrapped up the morning by delivering baked goods to the North Reading Police & Fire Departments. Josie’s parents who were with her at the time, explained to us how much Josie enjoyed getting these 13 acts of kindness done throughout the community.
To that we say, “Happy Birthday Josie!”. We here at NRPD are always happy and proud to see the youth of our community doing their part to make the Town of North Reading what it is today.
Josie was hopeful that her first acts of kindness as a teenager would inspire, so let’s get out there and “Pay it forward”.
