It is important that our resident’s be on the lookout for suspicious persons and vehicles. During the month leading up to Christmas, we will see a spike in residential burglaries and package thefts from people’s front steps and door ways. The law enforcement campaign of “See Something, Say Something” definitely applies in cases such as these and at this time of the year.
How do these crimes happen? Residential burglary suspects will often work in pairs, with one being dropped off at the target house and one staying mobile in the area driving the getaway car waiting for the suspect in the house to complete the entry and the theft before returning. Sometimes suspects will park in an odd manner in a neighbor’s driveway, sometimes they will approach and knock on the front door and sometimes they will approach from the rear of the house, sometimes the suspects will appear lost in the neighborhood. Look for these behaviors and similar unusual occurrences and call us so that we can make sure those people belong in your neighborhood.
There has been a rash of residential burglaries in the area over the past month so please remain vigilant and talk to your neighbors so that they do the same. No one wants to be victimized by a break in, but to have it happen during the holidays is even worse.
