At approximately 6:30 a.m. NRPD officers responded to the Park Street east area of North Reading by Angelwood Lane for a report of a fox that had attacked a resident’s small dog while it was outside and then taken the dog into the wood line. Officers responded and attempted to locate the injured dog but were unsuccessful. North Reading Animal Control was contacted, later responded and is investigating.
Based on similar reports, it is suspected that the fox may live somewhere between Anglewood and Fairbanks Lanes. Residents with small pets should take precautions to protect their pets while outside.
